I’m almost ready to publish Serpent’s Teeth, the fifth book in the Sir Anthony Standen Adventures. I recently posted about the editorial reviews, and I am now just waiting for the cover designs from the talented Jacqueline Abromeit. I have prepared the paperback and ebook versions ready to load into KDP and Ingram Spark. I am currently producing the cast list which my audiobook producer will need.
My marketing plan is to use the free marketing offered by the CWA. I will need to send them details of Serpent’s Teeth on or before the 15th of the month before the month in which I publish. So if I get the cover designs by, say, the 13th of October, I should be able to publish on the 1st of November. CWA members receive release-day announcements of their books on all the CWA socials (combined reach 32K+), as well as a place in the Hot off the Press graphic, which goes to socials as well as appearing in the CWA Readers’ News (12K+ subscribers). Hopefully that will get the ball rolling. If it does, I’ll press on with the audio book. So far sales of the audio books lag miles behind paperback and ebook, and they are so much more costly to produce. But I am conscious that they are the only way some readers can access books.
