~ About Me ~
I was born in Kent, the son of a banana ripener and a shorthand typist.
I was educated at the Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School (that’s a mouthful), where I won an exhibition (that’s runner up to a scholarship) to the University of Oxford. I read engineering science. After graduating I worked in engineering, project management and risk management. I was also commissioned in the Royal Naval Reserve, serving on minesweepers, patrol boats, and naval control of shipping.
Towards the end of my career, I was commissioned by Gower Publishing to write a book on Project Sponsorship. I enjoyed it so much that I enrolled on the Open University creative writing course, then the advanced course. I had a short story published in an anthology by Bridge House Publishing. I was hooked. When not writing, I enjoy playing golf, and sailing our boat with my wife Claire.
