ACX published The Suggested Assassin audiobook today. So all four of the Sir Anthony Standen Adventures so far are now available as audiobooks. I thank Simon De Deney for doing such a great job of narration and production. I’m looking forward to working with him on subsequent books.

The biography of Cardinal Richelieu still hasn’t arrived, and when I checked the order on Amazon the delivery window seems to have slipped back into January. While I wait for that, I’m reading Bring Up The Bodies, by Hilary Mantel. I’m highlighting the bits that strike me as great writing, and hope I learn something. We shall see.

Sales of the audiobooks haven’t really taken off yet. Apart from the radio interview I did for Alan Warren’s House of Mystery on NBC, my marketing isn’t targeted at the visually impaired. I shall think about how that can be changed. If you have any ideas, please let me know. I may try running a free audiobook giveaway again. Perhaps it will be more of a success closer to Christmas.

Paperback sales seem to have picked up. This month so far I’ve sold on Amazon twice as many paperbacks as Kindle ebooks. Last month I sold three times as many ebooks as paperbacks. The only differences are that I’ve increased the price of the paperbacks by 14% and it’s closer to Christmas. I suppose a physical book makes a more appealing gift. Of course it could be that word of mouth has gone around following the book signing at the Christmas Fayre. I must do some research about the power of word of mouth. I’ll let you know if I discover anything interesting. In the meantime, why not tell me about a book you’ve read for Readers Club? Tell me what you liked and what wasn’t so good.
