I think I’m making progress. I’ve approved the 15 minute sample for the audiobook of Fire and Earth. ACX are going through their quality checks of the audio files for The Spy who Sank the Armada. If you don’t know what ACX is, it’s the Amazon owned company which publishes the Audible audio books. It’s a web marketplace which brings producers and book right’s holders together. So we’re making good progress on the audiobooks. Sales seem to be growing organically, and not just via Amazon Ads. I only know that because sales are appearing on the KDP dashboard which are not on the Amazon Ad campaign dashboard.

I’ve loaded my details onto the CWA (Crime Writers Association) website. Having a link from there to my author website should help with my google ranking. Fingers crossed! I do seem to be getting more traffic to my website. Also, if I google The Spy who Sank the Armada, my website has shot up in the rankings.

I’ve received the draft press pack from my publicist Brian. I’ve made a few corrections and have been working on my responses to the draft interview questions. I’ve also been thinking about other questions an interviewer might ask. I came up with “What’s the hardest part of being a writer?” My answer would be, “This is. Writing is far easier than marketing.”

Unfortunately, for an indie writer, you have to market your books as well as write them. I really don’t know what writing my fifth novel is going to be like. I guess it’ll just take a little longer. I’ll need to write a blog post each day to keep google happy, as well as scenes for the book. Who knows, there may even be speaking engagements and book signings to fit in. That’s progress for you!
