Exciting news – I’ve had my editor’s corrections and critique of Called to Account, the fourth book in the Sir Anthony Standen Adventures. It’s all pretty positive.
“I have to say I think you did a good job on this one. It reads well and has a nice flow and solid story shape.”
“You have a fluid style of narration. There is also a sense of fun in the adventure, so while the discussions and themes have a philosophical and deeper edge, there is a lightness about the characters, even though they are put in peril, that we saw with Anthony Standen but that now comes across with the twins. It stops it being too heavy and too serious and I think it makes it a nicer read.”
There are corrections, of course, and some excellent suggestions for improvement. So I’ll be spending a few days working on those. I’ll need some help from Claire on the romance angle. A woman’s perspective is required.
I’ve also got some calls in the diary with Brian Feinblum in New York, to work on the launch publicity. Also, once I have the manuscript corrected, I’ll be seeking ARC reviewers. If anyone is interested, let me know. An ARC reviewer is someone who reads the manuscript before publication, then posts a review on Amazon and Goodreads a day or two after publication. I want to get the launch of Called to Account right. I didn’t really have a launch of the first three books at all.
